Maybe my blue and white goggles are on too tight but Marchenko hasn't looked that bad to me over the last couple of games. A little soft, yes.
I thought he looked good the first couple of games and has gone steadily downhill from there
Between him and Marincin it's a matter of who sucks less at this point
Marchenko should come back in next game if Carrick can't go
You know things are bad when your sweating on Carrick coming back

Odd stat of the night. Despite looking pretty bad, Marincin was our best Corsi player tonight.

How was JVR's goal unassisted?
I'm 99% sure it will change eventually.

It must have went off the Carolina players stick, I'll have to watch it again.
Doesn't matter if it was deflected off a Carolina's stick or even if CAR poked it off Marner, they give an assist unless the other team actually gets the puck (like how a delayed penalty doesn't get called just b/c the opposition tips it or pokes it). If that doesn't end up a Marner assist, then he got cheated.

Good defensive play for the most part. Saving the offense when the other guys dry up. The man understands this is a marathon.
I mean he wasn't garbage, he was just garbage compared to his usual performance.
I barely saw him touch the puck, where he usually controls everything. His defence wasn't that great either this game, but still decent enough to not be a liability.
I feel like hes resting a minor injury or something

Nice win! I'm on the bandwagon. Actually, have been rooting for the Leafs for a few months now, since I started reading all the anti-Toronto bias/dislike on HF main NHL board.
Go Leafs go!

Usage. I'm assuming he had the highest offensive zone starts.

I actually thought his defense was good-great this game? Every time I saw him he was in excellent positioning down-low in the defensive zone supporting the defensem*n, didn't notice him lose his man at all, and no bad turnovers.

"Babco*ck should be fired and replaced with D.J. Smith"
"JVR should be traded"
"Bozak isnt worth a bag of pucks"
that jvr should be traded isn't wrong. We either commit long term and pay him or have to trade him(ideal situation for me). But no half assing and keeping him just to try and make the playoffs and let him walk as a f/a or let his value drop. He should either be traded this offseason for a lucic esque return or resigned to a 6x6 deal imo. I don't want him here long term but if we can't get back value than signing him and letting him be a supporting player isn't the worst thing in the world.

It's a loose puck that Faulk knocks to JVR. They took the assist away, so I doubt they give it back.

If it's a loose puck then I'll take back my opinion. On the one replay they showed, I thought Marner had gained possession of it first.

He can do better but can't be on your game all the time. Has good fight in him.

bozak misses chances more often than not. I am so sick of your bozak love. your every other post is almost of how bozak is the bread to your butter to spread.....
if bozak wasn't playing well recently I would seriously tell you to ........... (fill in the blanks)
Well, never mind... I don't want an infraction!!!
Bozak is not as bad as some on here make him out to be, possibly including you.
Bozak love? Sure, I don't **** on him like others on here. Sure, I make fun of his naysayers when he scores for us. However, I'm not exactly president of his fan club! I just don't think he deserves to be crapped on as much as he is on here, that's all.
Sure, he wasn't a 1st line centre when he was the only decent centre we had a few year back! However, he's still being treated like **** even though he has proven that he was not a product of playing with Kessel.
I try to cheer for all players who wear the Blue and White. Sure, I complain about other players, but, never to the degree that some on here do!
Give me a break with the Bozak love accusations!

It sure looked like he did. Weird, got to see the replay of that one.
Edit: Yeah, might very well be unassisted.

62% on the draw, led all players with 6 takeaways. I didnt see him make many defensive errors either.
Dont worry, the points will come. Yer right though the the puck didnt seem to follow him that often but he seemed like he was getting himself into scoring positions out front and teammates couldnt win the board battles to set him up.

I thought the same as you initially, but the replay I saw shows Marner trying to get position before possession. Faulk makes a swipe and knocks the puck to JVR, I don't think Marner ever touches it.

I think they should take Nylander & Matthews off Hyman's line & move them down to the 4th with Soshnikov.
thats what i have been saying, think Sosh would be great with those 2, unfortunally babs has Hyman glued to Matthews for some unknown reason. Sosh works just as hard as Hyman but more skilled. I like Hyman but on the 4th line. And not really sure why Marincin is back in the lineup. Was hoping we seen the last of him.

I'm probably just overthinking it, but I saw him be pretty slow and lazy in a couple of plays in his own end. But yea at least he didn't make any turnovers or brain dead icing plays (Polak)

I just wish Sosh shot more. He needs to stop passing and get in a lane to get a good shot off, its so deadly.

There wins in a row against teams with less points.
A sign of a good team; they beat the crappy teams that they're supposed to.

He's not on a line that creates much time and space for him.

I thought Marner kicked it to JvR but watching the replay it looks like he didn't touch it after all. Oh well, WE WON!
